Whether your project involves land use or policy work I can help you with your long range planning needs. I have worked on a wide range of projects from Regional Plans, Municipal Development Plans, Area Structure Plans, Land Use Bylaws, Urban Agriculture Plans, Housing Strategies, EDI Frameworks, and Community Development projects.

As someone who has worked directly within municipalities as a Planner, I understand the day-to-day functions that a Planning department undertakes. If you need an extra hand processing planning applications, preparing circulations, drafting Council reports and presentations, preparing engagement plans and materials, or any other typical planning functions, I provide the needed support on short notice without having to train a new Planner.

I currently look after the development permit processing for 5 Summer Villages in Alberta. Development permit processing can be provided on an as needed basis, whether its taking on few files during high volume periods or as a long term service. I can assist with any part of the permitting process such as deeming applications complete, reviewing applications in accordance with the Land Use Bylaw, issuing decisions, notification letters, representation at appeal hearings, and any other associated tasks.

I can speak to your team at a workshop, webinar, or lunch ‘n learn! I have presented to various audiences including municipalities, universities, and national conferences. Popular speaking topics include: 2SLGBTQ+ Inclusive Planning, Community Engagement Designed with an Equity Lens, and Decolonizing Planning. My presentations focus on providing tangible actions participants can incorporate into their practice.

Looking to subdivide your property? I can guide you through the subdivision process. From subdividing a farm site from the quarter section to multi-lot subdivisions I will prepare applications, submit appeals, help navigate conditions, and assist with the endorsement process.

If you are changing the use on your property you might need a redistricting or rezoning. I can lead you through the Land Use Bylaw amendment process starting with figuring out which district or zone is right for you, as well as, preparing applications, and representation at Council.
